Dr. Jared Armstrong completed his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University-Provo and completed both medical school and residency at the University of Louisville. Dr. Armstrong furthered his training in total joint replacement with a fellowship at The CORE Institute in Phoenix. He is board certified by the ABOS, a fellow of the AAOS and a member of the AAHKS. Dr. Armstrong is expert in the direct-anterior approach to the hip and has performed thousands of direct-anterior total hip replacements, total knee replacements, and hundreds of revision hip and knee replacements. He is trained in computer-assisted and robotic-assisted hip and knee surgery. He also performs specialized limb-salvage surgery. Dr. Armstrong has a love for serving under-privileged communities. Since coming to Boise, he helped found the Idaho chapter of Operation Walk. With OpWalk-Idaho he traveled to El Salvador with other fellowship-trained total joint surgeons and medical professionals where they performed more than 50 total knee and hip replacements for people who otherwise would never have had access to these services. Dr. Armstrong is also fluent in Spanish after having lived in both Spain and Honduras. Jared lives in Meridian with his wife, Jenny, and their three children. When he isn’t working, he enjoys riding his bike (especially up to Bogus Basin), participating in triathlons and working on his pistol marksmanship . . . but mostly, he likes to spend time with his family. Dr. Armstrong loves his job and genuinely loves to see the improvement total joint surgery can make in the lives of his patients.
